Pro bono representation of an incarcerated prisoner who had been held in solitary confinement for over seventeen years on a claim of cruel and unusual punishment.

Steven Storch  has been the lead litigator in many high-stakes, complex commercial matters and has over four decades of experience representing both public and private companies and individuals. He has a long track record of obtaining jury verdicts and awards in business disputes, including legal and accounting malpractice, fraud, and breach of contract cases, as well as in intellectual property, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation. Steve has also represented clients in connection with criminal investigations and charges, including banking fraud, import quota fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, and mail fraud investigations.

Steve partners closely with clients to achieve pragmatic solutions and mitigate the risks associated with long-term litigation. He approaches each case with the goal of reaching a beneficial settlement but is always prepared to try a case, if necessary, drawing from his decades of courtroom experience. Clients come to Steve for his personalized, persistent counsel and his reputation as an experienced and successful trial lawyer.

Steve co-founded Storch Amini in 1993, and after a successful 26 years, co-founded Storch Byrne. He prides himself on the wealth of experience and track record of favorable outcomes that the firm’s attorneys bring across commercial and matrimonial matters and the close support and advocacy the firm provides to clients.

Steve received Martindale Hubbell’s highest AV Preeminent rating, has been named as a top-rated business litigation attorney in New York by Super Lawyers for the past 16 years (2007-2022), and was voted by his peers as a Lawyer of Distinction. He has successfully represented dozens of individuals, and children in particular, on a pro bono basis. He is currently providing pro bono services to infants seeking asylum in the U.S. and has had repeated success in obtaining coverage for children who were denied health insurance.
